Elaine is a Chartered Psychologist and Scientist having worked in the field for 30 years. She gained her qualifications at Leeds and Sheffield universities and has continued to upgrade her
professional skills, including recently acquiring a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Elaine lived on the Isle of Man for some time and ran her own training and development company Elaine
Douglas Associates for eleven years during the 1990's. In 2002 she relocated to France for a few years and spent time in the UK, returning to the Island last year to be with here family here.
She is a published author, producing a toolkit on issues around bullying at work. For seven years she wrote a column for the Yorkshire Post, responding to readers' letters and queries. She is also a
point of reference for journalists through the British Psychological Society and has taken part in many radio interviews on a range of subjects. Elaine is experienced in dealing with a wide variety
of psychological problems which create stress, anxiety and depression for her clients. She works with clients on an individual basis and with couples who have difficulties with relationship issues.
Her earlier background in education means that she is comfortable working with adolescents as well as adults.
