How much does it cost?
Treatment costs £100 per session.
If you have private medical insurance this treatment may be covered by your policy. Please check with your insurance company. Shockwave at Follan does not liaise with your insurance provider directly, but we will issue you with a detailed receipt for your treatment if requested.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of treatments required will vary depending on your diagnosis and the duration of your symptoms. Based on the research patients require a minimum of three treatment sessions over a period of three weeks as shockwave treatment has a cumulative effect on the injured tissue.
Most patients will require a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 sessions
.
How long does it take?
Each appointment will be between 30 and 40 minutes long. The application of the shockwave treatment lasts only around 10 minutes.

health and social care practitioners and has approved shockwave therapy for many tendinopathies. Research into shockwave therapy is ongoing and growing by around 300 papers every year, leading to
